アメリカのフォーク・ロックバンド。
2006年に、フォーク・シンガーソングライターのジャスティン・バーノンを中心に結成。現在10名で活動している。
2012年の第54回グラミー賞にて、計4部門にノミネート。そのうち最優秀新人賞を受賞。
それと同時に、アルバム『Bon Iver, Bon Iver』が「ベスト・オルタナティブ・アルバム」を受賞した。
とにかくわかりにくい曲でした。
最初耳にした時には全く訳が分からず、歌詞に出てくる「Skinny love」が一体何のことなのかさっぱり。
skinny（やせこけた）という単語から拒食症の人か？
いやいや不治の病の女性のセンもあると悩むことしばし。
ネットを調べて「非常に手の焼ける恋人との別れの歌である」という解釈を見つけました。
問題の「skinny love」は薄れゆく主人公の愛情と壊れゆく2人の関係を象徴しているとか。
なるほどねえ。
